Currently, Dr. Gretchen and Dr. Darrell are the only chiropractors in the Shenandoah Valley that are Board Certified in the care of children and pregnant women, through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA)

Dr. Darrell and Dr. Gretchen love staying active with their three children; Forest, Fern and Leaf. They have a strong belief in natural conscious parenting and the importance of family! Clients in the office know they are treated with the same love and care as would be given to a close friend or family member.

Dr. Darrell Volschke

Chiropractor

Originally from Mars, PA, (just north of Pittsburgh, PA) Dr. Darrell attended and graduated Cum Laude from Allegheny College with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. While in college, he was on the football, cross-country, and track teams, and held the captain position for both cross-country and track. Dr. Darrell and chiropractic were a perfect fit from a young age. He received chiropractic care since the age of 16, and noticed that his overall health was always at its optimum, which helped him to excel at his athletic endeavors.

Upon graduation from Allegheny, Dr. Darrell moved to Seneca Falls, NY in 2003 to study chiropractic. He again graduated Cum Laude, this time from the intensive program at New York Chiropractic College. During his time at NYCC, Dr. Darrell became very involved with the Sports Science and Human Performance Club, where he held the position as president. SSHP’s main objective was to travel to different sporting events, intercollegiate or open road races, track meets, crew events, and triathlons to adjust the participants and to teach how beneficial chiropractic can be for the athletes.

Since moving to Virginia and completing multiple marathons and ultramarathons, Dr. Darrell’s focus in chiropractic has shifted over the 16+ years of being in practice from athletic performance to family centered health. With a family of his own and optimum health still at the forefront, Dr. Darrell has completed a rigorous course of additional training in pediatrics and pregnancy, to ensure the highest level of care is given across all ages. With a purpose of improving functional health from birth to death, The 100 Year Lifestyle is a perfect fit to this goal.

Dr. Gretchen Volschke

(Not currently in practice)

Dr. Gretchen grew up in Owego, NY. She graduated Cum Laude from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Also a strong athlete, Dr. Gretchen played field hockey where she was a 4 time All-American at Mansfield. Throughout her athletic career, she was always fascinated by the human body and how it moved, functioned, and healed, which made chiropractic a perfect fit for her.

Dr. Gretchen moved to Seneca Falls, NY in 2003, where she met Dr. Darrell. She graduated Cum Laude from NYCC, and while there, she was also very involved with SSHP, where her love for athletics and chiropractic were able to come together. Dr. Gretchen also worked at Monroe Community Hospital and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, where she was able to provide chiropractic care to the veterans in the community.

Also an avid runner, Dr. Gretchen has participated in 9 marathons. An additional passion for Dr. Gretchen includes birth, pregnancy, and the empowerment of women. In line with natural health, her personal birth choices for her children included home births with a midwife, three experiences that she is fiercely proud of and helps to encourage women to educate themselves and make the best choices for their situation.

Madison Curry

Office Manager

Madison joined our team as Office Manager in July 2021. She previously worked for over 4 years in the medical field, but wanted a change that would combine her passion about healthy living with her career.

In 2015, Madison found herself wanting to be healthier, and started to cut out fast food and highly processed food items. She started paying attention to ingredients and what she was putting into her body, and with the combination of good nutrition, daily walks, and exercise, she lost 65 pounds. Through this, Madison has become passionate about helping others to be the healthiest version of themselves.

Madison grew up in Inwood, WV but currently lives in Strasburg, VA. In her free time, Madison loves spending time with her family and playing with her two rescues, Bentley and Ash.
